I started my work at the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public this past Thursday as their Senior Data Engineer. It is exciting to see us recognized as a finalist for Geekwire's 2020 Awards in the Geeks Give Back category! Vote and support their work, and check out the other great nominees: https://www.geekwire.com/2020/vote-geeks-give-back-award-5-inspirational-groups-making-positive-change-community/
This will work even if you do not have fuse installed but if you try to add it to your fstab it will fail without fuse.
It seems that mounting Shared Folders in VMWare Fusion with Debian 10 is not as the docs say. This is the way I got it working:
sudo /usr/bin/vmhgfs-fuse .host:/src /mnt/src/ -o subtype=vmhgfs-fuse,allow_other -o uid=1000 -o gid=1000
Where the uid and gid fields match my Linux uid and gid so that permissions are correct on both sides of the mount.

I develop software. I take photographs. I spend time in nature. I endure the judgement of my dog. I run this server.
